SEO Tips & Tricks: They Don't Want You to Know About

Word Count - Getting it Right, Counts Big

How many words in the body of text should there be on a webpage? Ever notice that there is a very wide variation in length of articles? What is the ideal page size for search engine optimization?

Moderate Content Length Is Best

Of course, effective SEO depends on exactly what you are trying to accomplish with a given webpage. The very top level pages can be extremely small. And, some kinds of pages can be extremely long in length. But, for And, rarely should be more than a thousand words long.

Avoid Publishing Stubs

Anything less than 200 words is more of a teaser than a complete article. This is especially true for blog posts. There is nothing worst for a content searcher than clicking on a search engine entry that sounds interesting only to find that the article is almost none existent. So, it is very unwise to publish anything less than 200 words long. Simply work on developing the content in stub articles until they have been fully developed, yet not worked to death before releasing them to the public.

Long Articles Do NOT Optimize Well

On the flip side, very long articles tend to meander all over the place. Readers tend to lose focus when the article approaches 1,500 words. Of course, many readers would be hard pressed to focus on what you are trying to say in a lot fewer words. Authors who try to cover too much territory often end up writing ineffectively. Any way you look at it, it is foolish to end up squandering content that could have been more effectively divided up into more than one article.

The need to continuously publish new content is real. When writing always be sure to be thinking of two or three other spin-off articles that could be written later on that stress different areas of the same topic. It simply is a waste of content to try to cover too many different topics in the same article. Nor, can search engine optimization effectively target more than one or two keywords on each page.

Know When To STOP Writing

This is not to say, of course, that there are never exceptions. But, for some authors learning to shut up when the topic has been effectively covered can be just as challenging for them, than it is for others to actually think of anything worth writing about. Always remember that the ultimate goal is to published as many different search engined optimized articles in as little as time as possible.
